Returned from vacation

Liz and I have returned from o
ur camping vacation at Lynn Ann's campground in St. Germaine, Wisconsin. We brought the new cat along since she hasn't had some vaccinations yet and couldn't be kenneled. The in-laws have named her Dalia but I call her Skunk Rat because she's still small like a rat but has a white stripe on her belly that makes here look like a skunk. I think if I keep calling her Skunk Rat the name will catch on. Skunk Rat isn't too smart. We had to keep her on a leash with a long line. This meant that she would regularly get line tangled on something. At one point she crawled into the underside of the van and got herself caught. I was the only one with arms long enough to reach her and untangle her.

Ben brought the boat once again and we did some tubing. This time he had a splitter and a second tube so we could have tube wars. They're not really trying to knock each other off the tube. Rather, it's a skill challenge to see who can stay on the longest. I challenged Bruce to a tube war but he declined. I even offered to buy Gretchen a free massage at a local spa if she tube warred, but she avoided it as well. She clearly does not know a good deal when she sees one. Danny and Ben were the main competitors for tube wars. Ben lost the first match to Dan, but emerged victorious during the other runs. I've uploaded the first run only. In case you're wondering, the thing that Ben is flailing at Danny is a foam sword.

Liz and I got a bigger tent this year. We saw a similar tent at Costco not too long ago for an amazingly cheap price but decided against buying it because Bruce and Gretchen said that they would have enough tents for all of us. It was tempting though.

Once again, there was a lot of grilling. Nothing exotic... unless you consider beer bratwurst exotic.

During dinner one evening, I proposed an Xtreme Challenge: trying to finish eating an ear of corn before being thrown from the inner tube. Ben accepted the Xtreme Challenge.
He looks a little scared in this picture.

I've upload two videos of the Xtreme Challenge. I failed to capture Danny being thrown from his tube, so you'll notice that he's missing from the second clip.

Ben emerges victorious, holding his newly cleaned trophy up as proof. I wonder if he kept it to put on the mantle...
